This project will make safety improvements to the intersection at Georgesville Road at Hall Road, and will improve connectivity for people walking and biking in the area. The improvements include adding a southbound right turn lane on Georgesville Road, and an eastbound right turn lanes on Hall Road. The traffic signal at the intersection will be fully reconstructed.
Other improvements will include installing new curb and a shared use path (SUP) along the south side of Hall Road from Durrow Drive/Georgesville Green Drive to Georgesville Road. This Vision Zero safety improvement will improve drivers’ visibility of pedestrians and bicyclists and safely separate these vulnerable road users from vehicle traffic. Storm sewer improvements will be made as needed.
This location is on the Vision Zero Columbus High Injury Network due to the number of serious or fatal crashes, and/or crashes involving vulnerable road users like people walking, biking or on a motorcycle.
It is also located in a Vision Zero Communities of Interest area. Residents in Communities of Interest may have fewer choices about how, when and where they travel, putting them at higher risk as they move around. Extra investment in roadway and other transportation safety improvements may be needed to enhance safety.
