Greenlawn Avenue & Thurman Avenue at High Street - Intersection Safety Improvements

This project consists of geometric and mobility safety improvements to the intersections of Greenlawn Ave at S. Front St and S. High St at Greenlawn Ave/Thurman Ave. The road alignment will be improved, removing the intersection’s offset and allowing left turns onto High St from Thurman Ave or Greenlawn Ave. This project will include traffic signal improvements and the addition of a signal interconnect. Existing sidewalk will be reconstructed and a shared-use path will be installed. These Vision Zero safety improvements will better manage traffic flow, increase visibility of people walking and biking and separate these vulnerable road users from vehicle traffic. Stormwater drainage improvements will be made where necessary.

This location is on the Vision Zero Columbus High Injury Network due to the number of serious or fatal crashes, and/or crashes involving vulnerable road users like people walking, biking or on a motorcycle.
