This project will construct a 10-foot-wide shared-use path along the east side of Hiawatha Park Dr from Silver Dr/Velma Ave to Hudson St, and sidewalk will be constructed along the west side of Hiawatha Park to fill in gaps and replace deteriorated sections. Other infrastructure improvements will include replacing curb and median islands where needed, installing new curb ramps and stormwater control and relocating water service lines.

This project will provide safe facilities to walk and bike along this corridor in the Linden neighborhood. The new shared-use path and sidewalk will connect to the new path and sidewalks recently constructed by the city on Hudson St from I-71 to Cleveland Ave. These Vision Zero safety improvements will increase visibility of people walking and biking and separate these vulnerable road users from vehicle traffic.

This location is on the Vision Zero Columbus High Injury Network due to the number of serious or fatal crashes, and/or crashes involving vulnerable road users like people walking, biking or on a motorcycle.

It is located in a Vision Zero Communities of Interest area. Residents in Communities of Interest may have fewer choices about how, when and where they travel, putting them at higher risk as they move around. Extra investment in roadway and other transportation safety improvements may be needed to enhance safety.
