South High Street at Dering Avenue - Signal Replacement

This project will replace and upgrade the traffic signal at the intersection of S High St at Dering Ave. The new traffic signal will have backplates and pedestrian pedestals, with signal heads installed at the crosswalks. This Vision Zero project will improve drivers’ sight of signals and pedestrians, improving the safety of all road users at the intersection.

Additional work will include construction of sidewalks and ADA curb ramps, storm sewer improvements, pavement repairs and resurfacing, and signing and pavement markings. Lighting modifications and power work will also be completed to support the signal.

This location is on the Vision Zero Columbus High Injury Network due to the number of serious or fatal crashes, and/or crashes involving vulnerable road users like people walking, biking or on a motorcycle.
