This project will construct sidewalk along the north side of Refugee Rd from Noe Bixby Rd to Blue Moon Dr, and on the south side of Refugee Rd from Noe Bixby Dr to existing sidewalk just west of Glenbriar St. Installation of the sidewalk will include curb, curb ramps and drive approaches, and may include stormwater drainage improvements in select areas.

These sidewalks will provide safe access for students walking to Liberty Elementary School and Independence High School.

This location is on the Vision Zero Columbus High Injury Network due to the number of serious or fatal crashes, and/or crashes involving vulnerable road users like people walking, biking or on a motorcycle.

It is also located in a Vision Zero Communities of Interest area. Residents in Communities of Interest may have fewer choices about how, when and where they travel, putting them at higher risk as they move around. Extra investment in roadway and other transportation safety improvements may be needed to enhance safety.
