This project is converting Blossom Field Blvd to a public street and upgrading the roadway to meet standards, including making curb and pavement repairs and adding streetlights. The project will make it possible for Blossom Field Blvd to connect to the city's new Westbourne Ave extension from Taylor Station Rd to McCormick Blvd/Brice Rd N. The extension project is substantially completed. A roundabout to be constructed at Blossom Field and Westbourne Ave will slow driver speeds and reduce serious crashes.

The Blossom Field improvements will help to divert traffic volume and create safer conditions on westbound E. Broad St for drivers who want to go north on Taylor Station Rd, and for southbound Taylor Station traffic to travel east on Broad St. A shared-use path will be constructed along the east side of Blossom Field, with sidewalk along the west side to fill gaps. These new facilities for safe walking and biking will create connectivity to the new shared-use path and sidewalk being constructed by the E. Broad Street arterial rehabilitation project, Phases 1 and 2.

This location is on the Vision Zero Columbus High Injury Network due to the number of serious or fatal crashes, and/or crashes involving vulnerable road users like people walking, biking or on a motorcycle.
