Traffic Impact Updates

Beginning Sunday evening Sept. 13, westbound traffic on E. Broad St. in the project area will be shifted to new and resurfaced lanes. Two westbound lanes will be maintained along with dedicated left turn lanes, while right turn lanes will be unavailable temporarily as roadway milling and paving continues.

Project crews will continue to mill and pave E. Broad between eastbound traffic using the existing lanes and the westbound traffic until new pavement width is sufficient to shift the eastbound traffic to it. Right turns will not have dedicated lanes temporarily during this milling and paving.

Full milling and paving of E. Broad St in this project phase is expected to take approximately 5 weeks, weather dependent, and will include crews adjusting signage and traffic signal heads and installing temporary pavement markings.

Drivers should expect delays and watch for crews in the construction zone while this work progresses. The project team will monitor the area and address maintenance of traffic concerns as needed.
